Abstract

This paper explores the fundamental differences and similarities between Ayurveda and Unani medicine, examining their philosophical foundations, diagnostic methods, treatment approaches, and overall healthcare philosophies. Ayurveda, rooted in ancient Indian traditions, emphasises holistic healing, personalised treatments, and the balance of bodily energies. Unani medicine, originating from the Greco-Arabic tradition, follows the humoral theory and herbal-based treatment methods. This study highlights the strengths and limitations of both systems and discusses the potential for integrative healthcare models.
